I have been thoroughly enjoying a few bottles of Lourensford Five Heirs Merlot 2007.
This is a wonderful light and fruity South African wine from the Stellenboch region. We purchased a case prior to Christmas to provide suitable donations during festive visits.

At £90 a case, it is excellent value.

Shouldn't this ought to be posted in the 'Recommended Wine and Beer' thread?

    WOW! A thousand posts.

I think I was celebrating with the afore mentioned wine a bit too early for my own good.

I bought some Loch Ryan extra mature cheddar the other day. Very nice indeed and a bit more-ish with some Italian Delser saltines while watching The Girl Who Played With Fire.

Just been setting to on some of the these, all unpasteurised cheeses:

Mrs Kirkham's Lancashire from Goosenargh near Preston. This is strong, almost like a white Stilton.

    Sparkenhoe Red Leicester

....and my absolute favourite - Appleby's Chesire

.........now we need some more biscuits!
