Remember you're walking up to heaven

Did the ones you heard have the original tweeters and x-over or had they been modified? I heard a supposedly upgraded pair of H2's as a result effectively they had a different voicing, and were less natural and neutral IMO.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

I can't recall now, but equally an unmodified pair can have dodgy tweeters with rotten foam surrounds, or am I getting my speakers mixed up?

Thanks Lawrence, but what does V-shaped mean in audio terms?

The frequency response, so a dip in the mid range, probably the upper mids where I think you are having the trouble.
