    It sounds nice but it didn't have much to beat, I was using an old Sony MD before. It has got a nice chunky facia and is narrower than my Quad Pre/Power so it's discreet. It's quite smooth and tuneful. The bass line is alot easier to follow than on the MD player. As I said initially, it's only for our bedroom so it's plenty good enough.

    I was looking for a mint Quad 66CD but in the end I couldn't see the point in spending approx £200 to £250 on a 15 year old (or more) player, also it had to be mint which is quite rare.

    Never thought about going down the music server/squeezebox/Dac route?

    I was going to get an ipod Classis 160GB and a Wadia 170i but the thought of loading it up was too much for me!
