Just had fun cobbling this together. Not a looker I'll admit but sounds nice.

very nice Phil, I've been bodging a '75 together over the last 3 weeks. I'm in the process of stripping and servicing the motor. Looks like we use the same arm as well.

Look forward to seeing the results. How are you getting the VTA right?

Might be adjustment on that new collar as i see the original Linn collar is gone.. I much prefer the the 'GL70' to the 'GL75'

Yes me too, was actually looking for a GL75 and this came up. The arm is a Denon DA 790. Its got plenty of VTA adjustment but at its lowest still too high with the original platter hence the "stacked" platter. I know some frown on these but it was a quick fix.

That's a nice looking job Phil.

I have a Rega RP3 glass platter for use on top of the L75 platter and a spindle extender to suit. The glass platter adds a bit more mass, but not too much and it looks pretty cool!

I'm afraid everything apart from my main Toshiba turntable is in bits at the moment.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
