    Default Croft Integrated Phono

You know when you just lust after a piece of kit?

Well that's of where I am with the Croft integrated. I saw one once and it just ticked all my aesthetic boxes, and I have read all the reviews I can find, but I have never heard one.

I still want one though. It is becoming a burning need.

I just thought I would share that.

See if you can find a micro basic unit , These have 3 inputs and a phono stage ( MM)
I have one and am very happy with it , apparently tube rolling can improve it as well

A truly excellent amplifier and very popular with my customers.

Depending on where you are in London, you are probably only an hour away and you are welcome to hear one here.

Robert, you aren't the only one to also have that burning desire. Mine also runs to the "R" versions of the Micro25 and Series 7 amplifiers, if only the wallet wasn't so empty....One of these days I am just going to give in. My speakers deserve it. I think maybe my ears deserve it too...

Absolutely love Croft amplifiers even though I have had issues with them in the past. I currently only use a Micro 25 Basic pre fitted with Genelex Gold Lions with gold pins. These little beauties completely transformed the sound I got from it. For the better of course

Shaun, what other issues have you experienced? Reliability or more to do with system matching etc? Just curious as I haven't heard much of anything in the reliability department to the negative.

Having heard the little phono-integrated briefly and was pretty pleased with it, would love to live with it a bit longer though. Would like to get a chance to see how it does on a couple of other speakers that I have other than my Larsen 4's, of which it seems to be a good match there.

Timothy, back in 2009, I owned a Croft Micro 25 Basic and Series 7 power amplifier but within six months of buying them, the main power switch on the Series 7 fell to pieces. It was left to me to solder a new one in place. I do not expect this with such kit but I still adore Croft gear because the sheer sound and detail is stunning.

Thanks Shaun, while not expected and probably a bit of a pain in the ass, nothing to difficult to manage overall. I was just curious, as again, hadn't heard too many negative comments about build/quality in general. Also have always heard good things about Glenn taking care of issues when they have cropped up. Don't mean to rehash any old issues if painful here though!

I can't remember it being quite like this Shaun and I think there were a number of posts around and about it I remember. You could easily have taken or sent it to the supplying dealer (HiFi Dave?) or even Glenn and he'd have sorted it quickly for you.

I use similar switches in my work and normally, they're utterly reliable. For one to fall apart is very rare indeed I assure you.
