    Thanks lads will need to check the film's out.

    Grant mentioned it was dark for its time, and a lot of novels (before TV) were indeed shocking at the time ...... Le Fanu, M R James, Machen, Lovecraft, Poe etc etc were known to put fair maidens in a swoon...!!!!
