Hi Neil. Looks like ti will be after the new year now I am afraid. But, if things change, I will be sure to let you know. In the meantime, just keep making me jealous with your write ups!

Wow Neil... really interesting article. Thank you!
Neil,
I have only just got around to properly reading your review and I must say you are to be congratulated on the excellent job you have done (as usual).
I hadn't heard of Reimyo until now: why have they kept such a low profile?
You are clearly fortunate in being able to hear such wonderful gear, and so is the former customer of yours who owns the player/DAC combination. I'm afraid £13,000 is just a little out of my price range!
Now all we need you to do is to conduct a bake-off between the Reimyo, a Naim 555, one of the more expensive Chord s and of course the Nagra CDP!
Well done
Barry
Great piece Neil, I enjoy reading your matter-of-fact style (please don't take that as an insult!) - I can only dream of hearing that sort of kit let alone buying it, but this is a nice glimpse at what it may be like.

There is only one way to avoid criticism: do nothing, say nothing and be nothing Aristotle
Sadly Barry I don't know anyone with a Naim 555 or Nagra, however the Chord might be a possibility...I will look into it, but can't promise anything.
I think most of the fault for the lack of wide spread exposure of Reimyo lies with Audio Freaks, who promoted the Zanden kit more. To my knowledge the only UK mag that wrote about Reimyo was Hi-Fi +. However in saying what I have just said there may of course be other factors, but Reimyo changing distribution, must mean that they thought the same as me. I have spoken to Steve from Select Audio a few times in the past, and he struck me as being one of the good guys.
Thanks for the positive comments.

Excellent write-up and accompanying pictures (including your use of my own picture of the CDP-777 I once owned!).
A quick Google search of the internet will reveal that the Reimyo CDP-777 was one of the most universally acclaimed single box red book CD players ever. I have never seen so many worldwide positive reviews of a single piece of hi-fi equipment. In the UK, Hi Fi+ published a glowing review and as you rightly state, the original UK importer/distributor for Reimyo was Audiofreaks.
I purchased my CDP-777 new in November 2004 and enjoyed endless happy hours with it as my main digital source until I sold it on in September this year (I tend to update hi fi components every 3-4 years and the Reimyo stayed in my system longer than most items).
When the time came for replacement, I considered the CDT-777/DAP-999 combo but following extensive listening at home settled on a new dCS Paganini CD/SACD transport + DAC which IMHO exeeds the performance of the CDP-777 in my system.
It's a shame I didn't know you wanted to listen to a CDP-777 in your system before I sold it as I would have been happy for you to have had it on loan (it was boxed up since early June when the dCs arrived!).

Steve
