Shame... My budget was £13k, so it's just a bit over that

Can you get Radio 4 on it?

That's a bargain! And I mean it. The A820 is one of the Holy Grails of R2R - complete working with the HX card etc, it would easily be worth twice that asking price.

I would agree with Charlie, we paid more than the asking price a few years back for our unit.

    Nah... no way! lol

I would have to differ on that one... It's not 'a bargain' IMO... it's nice, but not a bargain.

A more reasonable price would be £8-£10k absolute topps. So whoever is selling it has a £5k wish to be honest.

But if someone can afford to slosh £15k for shits n giggles then so be it It's certainly very nice.

I would have once heartily agreed with you Jo but honestly these are such loveley machines and are becoming so rare now.

The only machines that match them transport-wise are A80's and Nagra T's.

Electronically they are very similar to the A812's audio-wise but there are some significant differences.

If you were to make one of these and sell it to the professional market now you could not do it for under £80 000.

We have however moved on technologically and there is no market for such a machine..........or is there?
