    Default Heco direkt

Heco have recently launched the Direkt, an unconventional 2 way with a 11" bass/mid driver and a horn loaded tweeter. Sensitivity is higher than average at 95 dB/W and a benign impedance characteristic means that they are suitable for use with lower powered valve amplifiers.

Heco have had a good recent record in producing Kraft paper cones which give exceptionally good rendition of tone. This configuration is a deliberate homage to a type of speaker that was more common back in the 50's & 60's. Many such speakers offered a relaxed easy quality of reproduction which the narrower tall cabinets and smaller drivers many modern speakers fail to match.

The Heco Direkt can be heard in Sandringham 4 at the HiFi News Show being held at Beaumont Estates in Old Windsor this coming weekend.

    RRP will be £2500

A picture from the brochure to give some sense of scale.

Thumbs up Rallying against tall, 'skinny' speakers...

Wow - I love those, and 'sensibly priced', too!

At least it's one modern speaker manufacturer that realises the sonic importance of decent-sized drivers and a nicely wide baffle area (in terms of creating palpable and realistic 'scale')....
