not tried it for a while Geoff. might give it a spin again sometime, but have to say that Opera has been running pretty well since the last update. Think it is pretty much what your used to style and performance wise that often decides you on new stuff. if the gi is poor then your first response, or mine is a bit like meeting new folk... like it or dont like it lol

Pale Moon browser for Linux just installed on my Netbook running Mint 17.2, seems excellent.

This evening I tried Maxthon, and it refused to install. Perhaps I'll try Comodo Dragon.

I do turn some stuff in Firefox to avoid snooping. Still like Pale Moon.

Chromodo is the latest and improved incarnation of Comodo Dragon. Try Chromodo first, you'll probably like it.

Thanks, but on second thoughts, I don't like anything based on Chrome. I don't trust Google.

I was a fan of Google many years ago. My friend, a Software Engineer told me of a very new search engine, Google. In my office of about 6 Engineers at British Aerospace, I set my computer home page to Google. All in the office thought it odd, but within a few days all the computers in that office were set to that page. It was not long before virtually all the computers in the Company were set to Google.

However, some time later. my friend, the Software Engineer, told me to be wary of Google.

I generally use Duckduckgo as a search engine now.

Just a wee heads up folks... I caught microsoft sneeking an update onto my pc today. As I have win 8.1 and dont want win 10 and I found them having trying to add files to my pc for win 10 I removed and blocked them ... you should see the amount of failed win 10 updates lol. Well even though I have not taken win 10 and have my pc set to do not download or install updates, I found that they had disabled my security, ignored the do not bit and installed a update that microsoft have yet to say whats really in it(not that it matters as I said no) It was hidden, but I found and uninstalled it.
I find this akin to hacking imo and although that is illegal it seem to be ok if they do it..... Just watch out
