I have that router and set a fixed ip for my streamer, I think they added that ability with the firmware that came out just before I started my Talktalk account a couple of months ago.
Go to My Devices, scroll down to Manage Advanced Settings then scroll down to the device ( in your case Volumio ) and then click on Reserve IP in the green box, then click apply.
I think I rebooted the router after that just to make sure the change stuck.

Streaming a film and still getting nearly 27 wifi upstairs. Would have been 6 with old router at best

Yeah think they try a push every 24 hours or so.
They seem to be a lot more stable than the BT I had previously.

My last talk talk router was very stable but the WiFi was crap. Even in same room it dropped off alarmingly with distance.
These big buggers seem mu h stronger
