    Default HS2 watch and weep

Do you think in 20 years time or whenever they get their act together HS2 will get anywhere close to this?

I can't see the point of this 'luxury train'. I've travelled on their 'bullet' train whilst in Japan, and that was sufficiently fast, comfortable and efficient. If HS2 will be of similar quality that will be good enough for me.

The difference is that in Japan the train is always running whereas here if it's not broken down or cancelled due to the wrong type of snow or leaves on the line, the drivers are on strike because £70k a year's not enough money for them.

I watch a lot of videos on Japan and they seem to be light years ahead of us in so many areas. But maybe that has always been the way - HIFI???

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Hi fi, yes. Funny thing is I don't have any Japanese-made components in any of my systems any more, or indeed anything from any Japanese hi-fi company, except for a Technics equalizer in the TV system.

They did all the best turntables IMO.

To be fair, we all need £70k a year to make rail travel affordable.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

Remember you're walking up to heaven

Don't let nobody turn you around
