    I'm Abe.

    Default Anti Skate set up..

    I'm on leave today.
Alone and I got all day to fiddle with my rig.

    For the fun of it.
Just now, I set the tonearm weight a wee bit away from the cart and adjusted the Anti Skate to almost near zero.

Wow. Everything seems to snap into picture (sound?)
Gone are the hardness and muffled top end.
The soundstage and timing did improve too.

I always thought that we need to dial in some anti skating control to counter the whatchamacall force the tonearm got itself into, but not in my case so it seems...

Depends on the arm, the cartridge, the record, the tracking weight etc etc. Gauges and dials are only a guide whilst your ears are the final test. If it now sounds correct, it is correct.

Stop fiddling and go out for lunch.

Couldn't agree more with you Dave.
My ears are my best test instrument.

    Haha.
Skipping lunch might result in a leaner hifi owner, even if he does not fancy lean sounding hifi..
