    Default greetings earth dwellers

I've been into hifi for years but mostly vintage horns, tubes, and the big old studio stuff. Not really into megabuck audio as seen in the audio rags. I'm finally into building and that has been more fun than I expected. More expensive than expected lol....

Welcome Iain. Arkansas eh... dunno if we have any other members from there, but we have quite a few from the States. Plenty of clever DIY'ers here so am sure you will find the site of interest.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    Hello Iain. Welcome to AOS.

Some very interesting equipment you have there. Just my sort of thing.

Some photos would be good. We have a Gallery section if you'd like to post some.

Tell us what music you listen to and if you have any projects or system changes in mind, we'd be interested in hearing about them.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

You probably don't need any more Arky's around.

DIY is how I found this forum and researching the Technics SL-1200P I just found.

I listen to just about every kind of music but the radio lol... Mostly world music especially jazz mutations.

I have lots of projects. Yikes...

    I'll check out the gallery.

    thanks
