Intersting observation re: power supply to turntable...
Spent a big chunk of today listening to vinyl and thought I could hear some slight wavering in pitch on piano music.
Hmnn..maybe the belt is needing a clean. Did that...nope.
Bearing oil? Fine.
Motor unit? Bought brand new so not that.
My deck is powered by a seperate Michell HR Power supply, which is powered from an IEC feed.
When I set up my balanced mains unit, everything was powered directly from it. As my system has had some different kit come and go since then I physically dont have enough hardwired feeds from the BMU to power everything, so some of the kit is fed from the Belkin PF30 unit.
Turns out the turntable PSU was being powered by the Belkin and was the cause of the speed fluctuations to the turntable motor unit.
My theory is that the Belkin does it power regulation "on the fly" and maybe fluctuates as a function of input voltage from the mains?
Maybe was affecting the voltage output of the TT psu plugged into it?
Took the hardwired feed from my Transporter into the turntable psu and BOOM...perfect speed now rock solid.
Interestingly the soundstage is noticably bigger and more solid now too.
Need to get back to everything hardwired direct from the BMU for best sound quality.
Be good to get the most I can out of the kit.
