    Default Beard Power Amps RE-Valve

i'm the proud owner of a fantastic pair of Beard P100 Monoblocks and also a Beard P50 stereo power amp (a pair also favoured by KK) and i was recently fortunate to be offered a full set of input valves for all three power amps (big thanks to Richard Dorrian and his friend Tony who supplied valves).
imagine my suprise when Richard brought me the valves and i discovered that they were all Mullard Originals (i'm talking 16 valves here) and he would take no payment for them .
i was totally 'blown away' by the improvement that putting in new valves made to the sound of my amps and i realised just how old and tired the old valves were getting (it happens so gradually one doesn't seem to notice) just as a matter of interest they are ECC81s , ECC82s , and ECC83s .

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

I've a Beard ca506 and just swapped jan12at7 and jan 12au7 for the psvane equivalents ......these were not old valves [jan's] but the psvane blew them away and then tramped on the remains. Not cheap but the excellent reviews they have received are pretty accurate.
