Friend of mine has 29249 out of 33441 available (he says) up to last weeks chart. 23064 on physical singles the rest being downloads and on albums but I despair at his reproduction equipment. He was involved in writing one of the earlier Guiness book of hit singles.

I saw this in the Daily Mirror yesterday and thought that they had made a mistake when they said £8000 estimate for the entire collection, that would be less than 20p per record. Ok they were all number ones and would have sold in large quantities so shouldn't be hard to find. Although it would be nice for the collection to be kept together I wouldn't be surprised if they go to a dealer and it gets broken up.

I suppose a low estimate will attract more people to the auction. That seems to be what they do with property auctions.
