Just arrived and still in its shrink wrap, the second TPA3116 Class D amp. I thought I'd try running one for vinyl and one for CD just for fun.
I paid £16.99 for this one including delivery. Make no mistake, these are seriously good sounding little things despite the silly low cost. Think I'll order a second SMPS as well.
I just heard from my best mate.
He bought one of the aforementioned TPA3116 mini amps after hearing mine in my system.
The amps he already owns are an EAR 861, Monarchy Audio SM-70 Pro and Creek Destiny 2. He finds the Destiny 2 superior to the EAR and SM-70 Pro when driving his Tannoys. However, he has declared the TPA3116 unit "embarrassingly good" and the equal of the Creek in his system. Like myself, he has now ordered a second one. They are that impressive!!
If you own moderately sensitive speakers you really deserve to hear what these little things can do and at around £25 including power supply, why not give it a go?
Don't tell me that! I paid far more for my Kingrex usb amp! (-:
Chris.
So what's happening! What are you currently using at this moment, Geoff?
S.
Shane Lonergan.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!
Geoff, please may I join the orderly queue for your Cheviots when you get round to moving them on. I'm sure it is already a long queue but still ...
