You should hear it. It's even more mellifluous than the Quad II and that's saying something. A deeply flawed and ultra 'valvey' sound, but wonderful!

The 6V6 valve is not seen often in Hi-Fi amps, but it is highly regarded for use in guitar amps.

6V6 single ended, what is the output power Geoff?

Found it, 4W at less than 10% THD.

Yeah. 4 watts it is, not that you'd realise using it, there's no obvious shortage of power. It's only going to be driving tweeters initially, so more than enough. The tweeters will be vintage Japanese 10w horns made by Coral.

Now I have to decide on what power amp will be driving the bass drivers.

Quad 306 cosmetic restoration now finished. Case resprayed gunmetal metallic, battered front panel cooling fins touched in to match original colour, I had to mix to get the right colour. One new + speaker banana socket fitted. All looks really nice!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It defo looks nice, but the above doesn't compute with me, and qualifies as an oxymoron...
