    Default Hi All

My name is Michael, I am a winemaker in the Napa Valley of California. I am new to higher quality audio and have been assembling my system for about six months. A simple system consisting of, Jolita BR202 tube amp, Technics SL1200MKII w/ a AT440MLa cartridge, a Lehmann Black Cube Phono stage, feeding into a pair of Paradigm Titan V2 bookshelf speakers, which will be replaced on Wednesday, when I pick up my new pair of Martian Logan Motion 40 floor standing speakers. All genres of music is played in our home but lately the girls (11 & 15) have been into classic rock, I have been buying them records that they have requested after previewing on Spotify. Their collection contains The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Pink Floyd so far. They have a long list but the nearest record store is a hour away. Music is played in the house everyday!

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hello Michael. Welcome to AOS.

Sounds like your girls will be keeping you busy. Try getting your rock tracks on 12" singles, they can offer superb sound quality.

Do you have plans for your system apart from the speaker upgrade? We like to hear what people have in mind.

There is a Gallery section if you'd like to post some equipment photos. They are always appreciated.

Tell us what music you listen to yourself.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
