Musical Fidelity X-Can V2 Rock Grotto Mods & Some
Musical Fidelity X-can V2 that has been modded as per the rock grotto suggested mods and then taken further.
The standard mods package concentrate on uprating the main PSU caps to Panasonic FC of a larger value http://www.rock-grotto.co.uk/panasonicfm.htm , replacement of input/output coupling caps to audiophile spec and new ultrafast diodes with cap across pins http://www.rock-grotto.co.uk/ufast.htm which has all been done. Additionally the Voshkod 6h23n uprated tubes were purchased (not supplied) but bettered by the supplied Tesla PCC88.
The power supply is also an uprated Maplin unit as suggested on the Rock Grotto forum.
This has subsequently been further improved by adding a new Alps volume pot http://www.rock-grotto.co.uk/xpot.htm (with a new knob as shown - the original doesn't fit) and the headpohone socket also the uprated model.
This blows the standard x-can into the weeds and will drive anything to stupidly high levels (I use HD600 which are difficult to drive and this drives them louder than anything else I have tried and far in excess of the pain threshold!)
I am asking £155 plus P&P or collect from Surrey/Hampshire border or the pieshow.
Only selling as I just don't use headphones enough to warrant keeping it.
