Default Hello from the record setting snow totals of the USA

After doing a search on Scott 299b info for a recent rebuild, i wound up on this forum. Looks like a nice forum without the bickering found on some others. I look forward to following the projects here.

    Hello Steve. Welcome to AOS.

As you suggest, this is a nice forum. We make efforts to enable members to feel at home, relaxed and amongst friends.

Tell us about your system and your choices in music. If you have equipment photos, they'd be most welcome in our Gallery section.

If you have any projects in hand or are planning system changes we'd like to hear about them.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

    Thanks Geoff.
My main system consists of a heavily modded Dynaco Pas3, Mac 240 also rebuilt and upgraded with kits by McShane Design., Canton Quinto 530 speakers recapped with Erse products ,Tascam CD-RW900MKII burner and a Music Hall MMF7.1.
Im currently shopping for a new mc cartridge.
One of my favorite amps in the stable is a Maggie 9300 series I built to the Al Jennings schematic, when run with Alpair chp70 twin dbr speakers. They are an incredible combo that was my main till ny Benz Micro Silver died long before its due. Im currently using a Denon 201(?). ,which is nice but has no magic.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
