    Default Cartridge Loading

    Guys
I'm after a little of you wisdom.

How do I work out the cartridge loading settings?

I have an AT OC9ml/iii (my first MC cart) and I'm fiddling with the settings on my Trichord Dino phono stage and clearly some sound better than others, but Im not sure what the correct setting should be?
The instructions for the Dino give some measurements/settings but those don't seem to correspond with any of the measurments/numbers I see on the cart specs?!?! I know that is because I don't know how to read them.

How do I work these out?

    Cheers in advance.

Just one more thought, I can work out the gain, that one seemed straight forward .

Most MCs are recommended into 100 ohms loading, including the AT OC9.
Set the Dino for 100 ohms and 1.1nF and see how you go.

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

    Thanks Alan.

Funnily enough that's how I have left it after trial and error!

I had an AT OC9 MLIII it's a brilliant cartridge. Alan is correct (as usual) about settings. In addition i found it quite unfussy about settings etc. One of the best cartridges i have ever owned. I can also report that it suited valve phono stages better than SS. Just saying!

Set it to whatever you prefer, on some MCs I like the sound with 47k but then I don't like a lot of bass from my hifi.
