Smile Happy new year..... and hello!

I never realised how difficult it would be to introduce myrself to the virtual world so I'll introduce my humble kit.... Synology NAS drive (because children's toys took up all the space for CD storage) all music ripped as flac files (Beethoven too Metallica), Teradak USB converter with dedicated power supply, Bushmaster mk 1dac, Arcam a18 amp, and a brand new pair of Tannoy dc6t se speakers (still running in but sounding sweet), QED silver anniversary cable with and Airlock plug's oh and a Tachima mains filter!!
    Best regards
    Rob

    Hi Rob. Welcome to AOS.

Sounds like you're a bit pushed for space.

Are you planning any changes with your system? We like to hear about what people are doing.

Not a criticism, bit I'll give you a little tip. I've used Tannoys for generations and they do not sound at their best with the QED cable. It imparts a bit of harshness and brightness that Tannoys do not need.

Anyway, enjoy the forum and Happy New Year,
    Geoff.

    Red face re changes

As I said I've just invested in the Tannoys after I first heard them about 18 months ago and they've just come down to my price range :-) , I'm also considering a new power supply for the bushmaster but am unsure whether or not to go for an sbooster or battery? Any thoughts?
Thanks for the tip Geoff I'll see what they're like after a good burn in period, what would you suggest as a replacement?

I can't advise on the Beresford question as I don't use those products.

But if you look in the 'Digital Expressions' section, you'll find areas dedicated to Beresford stuff. Just bung your question on and I'm sure you'll get a wealth of replies.

    Welcome to AoS Rob.

Regarding Geoff's comments about QED Silver Anniversary cable - there are many here who do not like it, so perhaps you might like to try another brand or type.

Nice broad taste in music you have: "Beethoven to Metallica"!

    Enjoy the Forum

    Regards
    Barry

PS I spent four years living in Manchester, and I think the bit about rain is exaggerated!
