Default AV amplifier needed. Advice please

I appear to have inadvertently stepped into a minefield. I have decided to venture into AV in a minor way. I am not really a home movie fan and my main system is an elaborate two channel affair. I have a second system which i use with my TV. At the moment this consists of a pair of Ruark Crusader 3 speakers with a forward firing BK sub, a NAD 2 channel amp. The sources are a Panasonic DMP-BD35 blue Ray player and a Teac CD-3000 CD/SACD player.

I have resisted the surround sound system for a long time now because the thought of having to run metres of cable to a pair of speakers fills me with dread. However, the time has come to give it a go. first stop is an AV amp that i can use mainly to watch concert footage in 5.1 and listen to HR surround sound music with. I don't want to go high end and not adverse to buying ex-dem or decent second hand equipment. I would like something that supports all of the modern DTS etc. Secondly i will need some rear speakers. Any advice would be gratefully accepted as i haven't got a blinking clue.

This amp will do the job unless you want mega volume, in which case you got to pay more:

For music best to have the same speakers all round so that means more Ruarks:

Centre speaker more difficult, I know Ruark did use to make them. Problem is so much programme in 5.1 goes through it you need a really good one for music and they are pricey.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.
