    Drill a hole in the base of each foot to take spikes. Remove the seat then glue a small oak cone on top of each upright et voila, you have very serviceable open frame wooden stands

    You could be onto something there Dave, you could stick them on e-bay for a couple of hundred nicker a pair, cheap at half the price too
