Hi all, like many others, i returning to hifi and rekindling my interest in vinyl. I am actively looking to upgrade my vinyl source and hope to tap into the many wise voices on here. Also hoping to find some new music which I otherwise wouldn't have come across. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions.

    My current set up

Roksan kandly l3 stereo amp bi amped with matching power amp
    Quad 99 CDP
    Rega P3 2000 with demon dl110
    Creek obh 15 phono
    PMC FB1+

    Thanks all

    Simon

    Hi Simon. Welcome to AOS.

I know Bridgend. My dad's side come from Swansea just up the road.

That's a nicely chosen system you have. What changes did you have in mind.

Plenty of opinions on music here. Just ask and you'll get replies.

    Enjoy the forum,
    Geoff.

Thanks Geoff. I've demo'd an rp6 and as I like the rega sound and simplicity I am looking to source one of these. I heard it with the rega fono against my creek phono stage and preferred it. But now I'm factoring in £200 or so on a new phono stage I'm wondering what other options are out there and advice on a cartridge to match.

The Rega arm can take a wide variety of cartridges. Are you considering a low output moving coil or sticking with high output MCs or MM types?

Thanks. I guess I'm looking at a mm cartridge. In fact I see there is a Graham slee era gold for sale in the classifieds and weven though its ovet my budget would it be worth the extra? It seems to get good reviews.

Thank you. I like a real mixture of music. I have to admit to bring an 80s fan (born in thev70s and musical upbringing in the 80s) but I listen to material from the 70s to current day. Recently I've got into caribou and boards of Canada via London grammar. Also like the national and band of horses, ed sherran, and tryin to find some jazz but tuneful not the freestyle. To be honest I'll give anything a listen to, even my wife's boy band CDs!!!!
