Default $ 250k Amp Where will it end

Dan D'Agostino is launching his state of the art flagship Helius dual mono block power amplifiers.
    Rated at 1500W/8 ohm - 20 000 W /1ohm.
Heavy league 350 kgs with the price of $250.000.
And around 30 of them sold already..

30 total idiots spending $250k blind , or just Hifi Snobs !

or this $6200 for a 700 LP storage rack , almost $9 per LP , Expedit not good enough for you sir

I distinctly remember reading about a 250,000 pound (£) amp back in the nineties. Would sir like two?

If I liquidated now I would probably be worth maybe £70K. I have bought an amp blind for £700. That's probably crazier than a man worth £100 million buying a £250,000 amp blind. Plus it could be an investment, like a new Ferrari. Although I know what you mean there are bound to be a couple of those 'oh I simply must have it as it is D'Augustino' types. But in fairness they probably piss off the other multi-millionaires too.

Realistically what's the most the parts could cost for an amp like that? Can't be that much compared to the total cost.

Goodness gracious NO! What use could two possibly be to me young man? I need seven. I have seven point one channels in my surround sound system. Do you understand seven?

I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

one cant put a price on hand built solid shining metal hewn from solid billets of metal limited edition run high end anything.
After all, does anyone moan when a ferrari or other superhyperduper car goes for 300k or more? or a hand made quartz watch for £9.99? or $99,999 for a bottle of Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru, Côte de Nuits...

soon , I am upgrading the amplification component of my analogue vinyl record reproduction apparatus, and will maybe audition some new expensive amplifiers, my budget is hugely unlimited, my taste extraordinarily cool, my vinyl collection runs into the tens

PS: my V.P.L amps are on sale: £249,999 or near offer

Cost is an issue for some. Even I have problems in making a sale sometimes because "it ain't expensive enough guv".

Every manufacturer should do 2 versions. Bog standard in a Maplins style case and hyper-luxury in a billet of aluminium draped in gold and platimum bling with a cherry on top. Don't forget to call the luxury model something different so that the buyer can differentiate himself from the plebs.

For example Stan could have the Caiman 2 at £250 or whatever and the 'Imperial Gold Reference' at £3000. Same exact thing under the skin but now everybody's happy.
