It was a stone lifting comp, a cast back from the original Highland Games etc...

That's a 140kg block I'm lifting in readiness to press, which I did but it nearly killed me!

We still hold the same comp each year but I'm not doing it this time around as I've a torn right shoulder unfortunately but will be back at it next year!

We also compete in drug free/tested associations for powerlifting and strongman...

Anyone can do it, just because you don't have the build now doesn't mean you can't develop it

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

Very true. In my early twenties I was a (qualified) mason pavior and my job was laying concrete and stone, kerbs, blocks and slabs. Granite kerb weighs over 50 kilos per foot length and I used to lift, cart and lay metre lengths every day, amongst other hefty items. You get stronger and more used to it by the day and I was only 5'6" eleven stone. I got even stronger and broader as I got older too (that's what weight training and ten hours of judo a week does to you) .
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Hehehehe... It's far enough away for just doing a 'jolly jape'. Different if I was involved in a competition

Is that 22 stone of muscle then, not including the big bit between your ears? Haha...

I'm just a mere 'tot', in comparison, at 6ft 2ins and 15 stone!
