    Cheap and it's one I don't have.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

I think those books are only any good for nostalgia, Certainly a reviewers say would never be what my own lugholes say & Technical Specs again mean hoot to me, only the odd spec you need to know about.. The thing is there is a lot of good old gear still under the radar of which never saw the light of day in any Hi-Fi press publication which would be a lot better than the revered favourites you saw most the time

Won another JVC 'JL-A1' Turntable today. I already use one of these but i need it to be mint and complete, more than anything the lid is missing from mine as is the original Headshell & cartridge..

I originally choose to use this deck as a re-entry into Vinyl, being utterly deluded with music files.. also a break away from specialist decks, the fact that it is semi automatic meaning i dont have to jump us as soon as one side of the record is over lol.. However the key to this deck is the JVC 'ADT-10X' cartridge that uses a Shabata tipped styli of which Jico still produce,

Yes it was.. No Direct Drive.. The idea is a stereo void of most everything that conforms to Hi-Fi dudes rules & regs lol

Belt drive then ? Sorry ,your reply confused me (easily done !!) You meant yes its off E bay and no direct drive?
I see no quartz lock or speed control, so assume it must be belt
Even so , A nice cheap, but good quality unit that flies under the radar I think
