And the chap who is selling it is trying to make a quick buck as well - sold for £250 over on LH a few weeks back. Seller hasn't even changed the wording of the LH listing.

I've reported it to ebay as hazardous. Imagine some little toddler poking fingers in, not good!
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

They may have been 'seconds' stock. Tannoy used to be a bit naughty with using components and drive units from very varied batches. Serial numbers for supposed matched driver pairs were often way apart.

    Hi

I'm the one who built this amp back in '84/'85 and offered it for sale originally at the Lenco Heaven Forum.

In my original sales blurb over there I included this line:

"6) Be aware as the amp is at this time, high voltages are exposed so this would not be suitable for use in a room with children present unless a suitable cover were made and used with it."

I offered it for sale at a forum where many of its members are familiar with Valve Amplifier hazards and I would not have offered it for sale on Ebay without fashioning a suitable safety cover for it.

I just had to point that out.

What happens to the amplifier now doesn't concern me but I will say it does/did sound very nice.

    Best wishes

    Tony

Bit of a bargain here I think

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Klyne-SK-...AAAOSwJLJcWw98

Was a £3k preamp back in the late 80s. I have nothing but admiration for Klyne stuff, even though it lacks bottles ...

Certainly beautifully put together - no wonder they used a transparent cover, so one could admire the neat layout.

Charging extra for the dust? If he wants top dollar (and more) surely he might have thought to give it a clean?
