    To misquote the old Ringo Starr joke - "The best speakers from Japan? Heck, they're not even the best speakers from the Sony factory"!

    I'd wager that Sony's own SS-GR1 and APM-8 would show them a clean pair of heels, along with some of the bigger offerings from the likes of Technics, Diatone and TAD. Personally, however, I'd stick a decent wager on the prize going to the Yamaha GF-1s.

    Yes. I think that's what they are. Driving the bass end I'd guess. Dunno what the beefy looking valve amps are.
