Decca C4E FFSS cartridge at £535. Some serious prices being asked these days for vintage Decca carts. They do sound great though.

Not exactly 'mint' is it, either? The front face is all scuffed... If I was paying that price for one, I'd be wanting it in genuine NOS condition (inside and out)!

G'wan G'wan G'wan Martin, you know you want to!

You could pull and sell the Brystons to offset some of the cost..

I thought you were steadfastly avoiding Tannoys Martin?

Never seen anything quite like this before: Kenwood KR-9050 in astonishing condition. Remarkably it still powers up. It reminds me of the Top Gear Toyota Hilux that they couldn't kill.

Marco reckoned Tannoys will boom if placed in free space - as I would have to in my room - however I can't find anything on line to back up this hypothesis so they are back on the cards again.

All they did with that Hilux was blow it up, set fire to it and immerse it in the sea for 12 hours - that Kenwood looks like it has had far worse treatment.

Sorry, but a huge number of Lockwood majors were ceiling mounted in saddles and you don't get much more free space than that. I have never heard this phenomenon with Tannoys and the joy of the Lockwood design, is that it can be used against the wall or in free space.
