They're in excellent nick - but the Belling and Lee 'aerial' sockets will puzzle some people!

Bugger! These things always come up at the wrong time. This one is on my list. I have the pre and tuner and have always wanted to complete the set. Can't justify spending as much as this will go for.

Sony made some crackers. My APM20ES speakers are very capable and I hear that their big brothers (22s) are even better. As with many things, Japanese makers suffered from the British is best brigade. There are good things from all over as well as bad.

I agree. How boring would it be if we all had some variation of QUAD, Tannoy or Harbeth? Sometimes it is worth skiing off piste a bit.

Must have been set up with the wrong partnering gear. "Muddy" is the last thing Sugdens could be accused of. They are lucid, smooth and clean.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

The system it was in was a Linn Sondeck with basic arm and cartridge. The Sugden was feeding a pair of K.E.F. Codas ( the original ones with the two tone paper baffle). It may have been the cartridge, I have never heard a Linn cartridge I have liked.

Absolutely. If the amp has a similar signature to the pre, it's clear as a bell.

    Guy's talking through his hat...
The Tannoy 637 speaker enclosure is completely sealed for optimised sound output and has rear blow ports for venting.
contradictory and wrong in the latter... it has no blow holes.
