You need them on low stands, pref open frames, about 6-8 inches tall. Close to a wall but not too close, about a foot or two away. They don't take much power before the mid starts hardening up so if you have a big room you can't whack it up and fill the room. So you need to sit relatively close to the speaker - but as they are a 3 way you need a bit of distance for the drivers to integrate so there is a sweet spot re distance from speaker to listener, I would say between 8 to 12 feet. An amp with big or warm bass will sound a bit thick and ploddy with them, so ideally you want to use amplification that is lean and clean, same with the source.

They are nothing like the '66 which you could use as a PA system if you had to. Stay within their limits they are very sweet, almost beguiling in their character.

Anyway that is what I found, they didn't suit me in the end due to my room size and layout. Might be ideal in yours. If not you could certainly move them on at no loss, or even a profit if you wanted to when the market picks up again in the Autumn.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

More eBay lunacy. Pioneer PL-112D currently bid up to £256!!! Totally bonkers!!!

Last time I bought one was from a boot sale for £12. Even now I wouldn't value a mint one at more than £50.

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Nice enough, but that's three times what they're worth.

I sold my Pl112D for €50 a couple of months ago and made 100% profit. I thought I was doing well.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
