    I stick with the Sony ones. They are all good, but much will depend on if any compression was used in the recording altrac 3 is usually the best to get. You can use the portable walkmans and plug the headphones into your stereo ...sound pretty good. I have 2 or three walkmans and either one or 2 big units...cant remember . If I have 2 you can have one. or if you want a walkman just say.

    I'm inspired to dig out that box of old minidisc recordings (old vinyl recordings) and look for a player

    I love my Pioneer MJ-D707 MiniDisc deck. I don't use it often, but recordings made via my Meridian 507 play back virtually as well as the original. It's a really good recording medium for my purposes. Certainly vastly better than any cassette deck I've used.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    cant remember. it or they are stashed...might only be one now; cant remember now. but have been using the wee walkmans. I like them and have a net md as well which is a handy little job. will have a look next time I get out to the studio.

    I used to use omething like this to run it when connected to my stereo(walkman) as it saved on batteries it uses a 3 volt dc psu

    It's as neutral as the source. Mine adds or removes nothing, it just reproduces rather well!
