My first good amp was Champagne gold. A Rotel RA-611, which I loved and had for years (so was the Luxman R-600 receiver that replaced it). Now I only buy black gear. Fortunately (speakers apart) all the equipment I've wanted has been black, apart from the graham Slee phono stages (I forgive them 'cos they're so good and are small enough not to be noticed).Originally Posted by istari_knight

Yes, I spotted those too whilst poking about on eBay. Rega speakers tend to have that speedy, dynamic character that light, stiff coned speakers do. A bit like JBL and Triangle jobbies. If they were nearer, I might be tempted at that price.
