Goodman's High Impact Monitors - Goodman's answer to JBL:

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355008142173?

For once something described as 'rare' that actually is rare. Collection from Brum.

I always wanted a go on some of these but you never see them.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

'Audio Intimidation' speakers. Never heard of the brand and he's not exactly been generous with the pics.

    But intriguing:

They’re great but they are hilariously overpriced and those a non-original bass drivers.

A completely original pair with re-foamed bass drivers sold for 99p back in August!

Hmm, before taking a punt on these I would first make sure I can indeed get audio cables from B&Q. I already have plenty of speakers with no audio cable, I won't get fooled again.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

T/T: Inspire Monarch, X200 tonearm, Ortofon Quintet Blue. Phono: Project Tube Box CD: Marantz CD6006 (UK Edition); Amp: Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated.
Speakers: Zu Omen Def, REL T9i subwoofer. Cables: Atlas Equator interconnects, Atlas Hyper 3.0 speaker cables

    T'other system:
Echo Dot, Arcam A75 integrated, Celestion 5's, BK XLS-200 DF

    A/V:
LG 55" OLED, Panasonic Blu Ray, Sony a/v amp, MA Radius speakers,

I did think the drivers looked iffy but thought it must be my memory playing me false. Only ever seen pics of them and a long time ago now.

Were you at Goodmans in that era?

Last time I was in B&Q there were no staff anywhere. Not even on the tills. People were either abandoning their purchases or walking out with them without paying. One bloke had one of those flat bed trolley things full of stuff, just walked out with it.

I wasn't going to do that and I couldn't be arsed to go elsewhere so I hung about and after ten minutes or so some girl did turn up and, acting like it was some huge imposition, started scanning stuff through at breakneck pace.

I thought my bill was a bit light, when I got back and looked at the receipt there was a couple of things that weren't on there.

She must have run them across so fast they didn't register.

Maybe you'd interrupted the leaving party they were having for her in the storeroom, and she was past giving a shit.

I usually do ok at B&Q, because years ago my brother did some work for one of their regional managers, who in return set us up with 'Trade Point' cards with their best discount rate (apparently not all Trade Point cards are created equal). Twelve years on and the card still works, they scan it and knock money off

They also sell colour-matched cable lifters. And quite a bit cheaper than Future Shop At the risk of blinding folk with science I will say these ones are designed to offer a choice of seven different floor proximities.
