Come on someone, these were great decks. The top boards were Veneered but the surround itself were solid Ash. Suspension was the Feet which were as sprung loaded cup, fully adjustable from the top via Allen Key.. The Airpax Motor hangs from three 'O' rings, that cost peanuts to replace, Bear in mind nothing is crude about that, its all in good engineering Quality.. The Arm board Dish is an heavily Machined affair Machined to Linn Pattern, although the anodising on that one has gone a bit purple but it can be removed & Re Anodised..

Loverly smoke Glass platter on a well made alloy sub platter with thick bearing fitted to a high qwalitee Teflon lined Housing.. Nice to see its the manual version & not the Electronic.. I never liked the ones with the Logic 'Gemini' style platter, spoilt the Aesthetics imho..

Postage is a bit Expensive but Inverness is a long way..

In connection with the Garrard 301 for sale on eBay, this https://www.vinylengine.com/turntabl...ic.php?t=11217 might be of interest.

I'm not justifying the reserve bid, but it does look like an early grease bearing 301 with the grey hammertone finish. If it is, it is in suspiciously good condition. The seller should have shown photos of the underside, showing details of the switch suppressor, motor mount and of course the grease nipple (or otherwise) of the bearing.

The SME arm has the later arm-rest locking device, but this could well have been changed when the lift/lower lever was replaced to accommodate the fluid damping trough.
