That strikes me as not really in the spirit of eBay.

Why not just put a buy it now price on of slightly more than you want, and allow offers? Seems much easier and fairer to everyone.

Lol why is it always the hoarders, sorry collectors that moan about sellers tactics

But never fear once one sells there'll be loads listed, oh wait no there won't, they're all in storage or back bedrooms or garages

Adam , some sellers change the prices to avoid ending a auction and then having to pay a re listing fee , Common on lots of auctions , I have seen items that normally sell for £9.99 listed at £999.99 then when back in stock the price goes back down to £9.99 on 30 auctions

I do put a BIN on but as every buyer knows, if you offer the price minus fees in cash, the seller usually takes it.

Frankly I'm surprised that this is a surprise to anyone?!

Have you not had ebay after you for ending to many auctions , I had a slapped wrist years ago and had to go through the 10 question yes and no naughty boy procedure before my account was unlocked

I don't do it regularly, Al.

Usually it happens when it's the higher priced items like my Motorbike, multiple PA systems and bulky things that people have to collect or want to see working.

I've let auctions run for cameras and small box items and rejected offers of cash on collection.

I'd never cancel an auction if there were bidders. It's only on BIN items.

I deliberately overprice the now sold item so that no one bids on it and when the listening expires, I simply delete it.

It's not a deliberate tactic but it's happened a few times.
I cannot integrate these last two sentences.
