I've heard the speaker they are used in. They glow at you! there's a radiant plug of plasma in the horn throat that is modulated to impart the signal into the air in front of it (I think that's right

B&W used this tech in their first or very early speakers I think. I've always wanted to hear a pair. I believe they have a finite shelf life but could be wrong.
