I rewired the cans over the weekend. No more suffering with iPhone buds at work.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

    I'm obviously having a black'n'white moment:

This Mortal Coil - Filigree & Shadow (Tidal FLAC 16/44.1, 1986)

    Massive Attack - Mezzanine (2LP, 1998)

The beautiful and talented Julie Fowlis

Something about these songs sung in an ancient tongue gets me right in the gut.

Bloody love the Sabres. Andy W a DJ I've seen so many times, you always get a different set with him. Legendary Bloated club nights in Newcastle, great.

Also playing some Two Lone Swordsmen earlier on too...

    Now this...

    Masterpiece double vinyl, excellent too.

Always torn between Sabresonic and Haunted Dancehall being my favourite album of theirs. Both great records. Sabresonic and Blood Sugar nights in London were great too. Weatherall plays what he fancies and all the better for it! Did you ever hear his Sci-Fi Lo-Fi compilation? Well worth tracking down. 'Feathers' is on it too.

Yes, I have that. Also a fair bit of stuff on his Emissions label from the 90s including the blood/sugar double 12" EP thing. Now to find it.

Did have quite a few of the pink tartan releases on Sabrettes label but my brother in law, still a massive techno fan and DJ has them.
