Us-&-Them - Way to go! I love The Cure!

I've listened to this probably 300+ times over the past 30 years on various versions of my system in different rooms. NOT ONCE have I ever felt like I got physically transported to the actual recording venue where this unplugged concert took place... Until tonight!

My current system, and the recent integration of these GIK Acoustics panels in this room, played at near life-like volume levels as if being in the audience, I sat here the entire time with my eyes closed and a giant smile on my face. That is, when my jaw wasn't on the floor instead!

    Wow!!

I was given this a belated Birthday present from a friend, not sure to make of it, aspects are quite good, but to me it comes across as a band that has lost its way and is trying to appeal to a younger audience to maintain sales, perhaps I am wrong, I will have another listen.

Coldplay – Music Of The Spheres
    Label: Parlophone – 0190296666964
Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, Coloured Recycled, 140 Gram
    Country: Europe
    Released: 15 Oct 2021

Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

Analog Inputs: Pro-Ject Signature 10 TT & arm, Benz Micro LP-S, Michel Cusis MC, Goldring 2500 and Ortofon Rondo Blue cartridges, Hitachi FT5500 mk2 Tuner

Digital:- Marantz SA-KI Pearl CD player, RaspberryPi/HifiBerry Digi+ Pro, Buffalo NAS Drive

Amplification:- AudioValve Sunilda phono stage, Krell KSP-7B pre-amp, Krell KSA-80 power amp

Output: Wilson Benesch Vector speakers, KLH Ultimate One Headphones

Cables: Tellurium Q Ultra Black II RCA & Chord Epic 2 RCA, various speaker leads, & links

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.

Another Birthday album and strangely enough this one I also find rather odd musically and in production terms. Without meaning to offend Ed Sheeran fans, and he has done some very good songs, but the way some of the songs on this album are presented for me comes across as just bland and over produced, and very pop driven. His technique and song construction seem to get lost on quite a lot of them, "The Joker and The Queen" is a classic though with beautiful lyrics and meaning and well presented. Once again I will have to have a few more listens to this album I think, I might be being ver critical.
