Never had this back in the day though it was often on when the Mrs kids were over as they liked the wide range of music that we listened to and I introduced them to beats of the heavier and more metallic kind.

For some unknown reason I listened to it more than a few times on Spotify last year, so much so that certain tracks made it onto my most listened to list on my Spotify phone account.

I think it was also because I was struggling lots late 2020 through to early 2021 and the deaths of both Chris Cornell & Chester Bennington, or more particularly the sad loss of them after all too brief lives struggling with depression and then taking their own lives touched me in a way that I never expected.

Two decades later still sounds good.

    New to me today...

    Big Country – The Crossing
    Label: Mercury – MERS 27, Mercury – 812 870-1
    Format:
Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, Blue Sleeve
    Country: UK
    Released: 15 Jul 1983
    Genre: Rock
    Style: Alternative Rock, Pop Rock

Whilst I did buy the 7" of 'Fields of Fire' on release as a 12 year old, I never really pursued Big Country through their career.
Flicking through the 2nd hand vinyl at 'David's' in Letchworth a few years back I picked up a mint copy of 'Steeltown' and always had it in my mind to pick this up sometime most likely CD which I nearly ordered on the big A earlier in the week.

I've stuck 'Fields of Fire' on the jukebox at my local a few times recently so when I saw this very tidy copy of 'The Crossing' in 'Slide Record Shop' today it was as if it was waiting for me

Sadly Stuart Adamson went the same way as the guys in my previous post but just like those the music lives on as timeless reminder of what they did achieve.
    Best Wishes
