Oh my god! There's nothing wrong with the bidet is there?
“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
***SMILE, BE HAPPY***
This one always comes out on sunny days, it's just such a great bouncy happy feeling album, brings back memories of 2 weeks cruising round Devon & Cornwall in my best friends VW camper van, 2 months before I got married in Oct 1983, and surfing and windsurfing at Puttsborough Sands, Croyde Bay and Saunton Sands, great days!
By the way it's a great album, if you don't know it give it a listen, there follow up Cargo is also very good.

I think I am nearing audio nirvana, but don’t tell anyone.
A record I haven't played in more than three decades, "Modern Times" by Latin Quarter. It was a casualty of bad storage and had a nice coating of white mould, making it unplayable. But a run through with a borrowed Moth RCM (thanks Macca) has brought it up like a new 'un I'd forgotten just how good "Radio Africa" is, which was the reason for buying the album. Didn't buy singles in those days.
Also got my ancient copy of "Roxy and Elsewhere" looking mint, but that'll get played another time when Mrs. P is out. She's not a big Zappa fan.
I'll have to (reluctantly) return Martin's RCM at some point soon, so guess what's at the top of my wish list now? I'm such a slow learner
