Quite a few of my older records have suffered to some degree from damp storage, due to where my ex-missus kept them boxed up before I got round to retrieving them. Most are quite easy to replace 80's albums, but I could never get rid. So one day I will get round to having them cleaned. We spoke about this a few months ago if you remember, with you kindly offering to help. But all kinds of stuff has happened since then

Still got plenty of tidy albums to keep me going, next on is Michelle Shocked "Short.Sharp.Shocked" Liking it more than I did 35 years ago
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

A cheapish and quite effective cleaner is the https://www.amazon.co.uk/Knosti-1300...%2C156&sr=8-11

I can advise on cheaper mix your own cleaning solution. Keep you busy whilst locked in

Cheers Adrian, I've seen this one before and wondered whether it would be any good, as I don't really trust online reviews. I will first see how I am for work post-lockdown, and then speak to you about alternative cleaning solutions and also replacement inner sleeves (the originals are less than perfect).

This one looked to be in awful condition, but after a good clean played surprisingly well..

A lot of you seem to have been listening to this recently, so I pulled it out for a play

This led to something of an Oldfield-fest...

Should have stopped there though, this one hasn't stood the test of time so well...

300b valves warming up in readiness for "Hergest Ridge"

The record I have been playing isn't Ommadawn, rather it's called "Return to Ommadawn" - very nice recording and silent vinyl. Recommended if you like Mr Oldfield

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”
