    Great music, sounds mediocre.. (Casuality of the loudness war)

    Lisa Dalbello (Dalbello) - She

    Wonderful rock, pop album with the enchanting and slightly scary Lisa Dalbello on vocals, an angry, sensual, wryly observed album, that still thrills me to listen to it today. Of course some will dismiss it as being just poppy, techno AOR but my view is that Dalbello rises way above the other artists of a similar vein (Berlin, Cock Robin, Device, Blue Yonder, Till Tuesday etc) by bent of her unique, quirky approach and a stunningly powerful melodic voice. Love the way she looks as well

    In away she led the way for artists like Alanis Morissette but to my mind and ear Lisa is better.

    Only recorded three albums as Dalbello and her first ones as Lisa Dal Bello are so unlike what followed as to almost be the same as imagining Val Doonican, starting to play Death Metal.

    Very long time since i listened to Dalbello! Might just pay a revisit in the record shelves...

    I' m playing the finds from today;

    Jeff Beck, Tim Bogert, Carmine Appice - s/t (LP, 1973)
    Sometimes brillant, sometimes boring and sometimes plain xerox'es what other have already done...

    A lot better;

    Ry Cooder - The Slide Area (LP, 1982)
    Sounds great, and unmistakably Ry Cooder'esque! like this!

    And finally;

    King Crimson - Lizard (LP, 1970)

    great album, if you haven't yet done so, try to check out the recent (ish) Steve Wilson 40th King Crimson remasters. IMHO they are superb...
