One of my early 1980s favorites: "The Fine Art of Surfacing" by The boomtown Rats. With my new s/h Croft Riaa R + Partridge 977 my turntable set-up sounds on par with my digital replay chain. I hear fine details in the songs that I never paid attention to before. I am pleased to say the least. It helps that I adjusted the arm height and inserted small rubber thingees between the sub-platter and outer platter of my Thorens TD 147 Jubilee.

Well just finishing listening to this, it was a Xmas pressie a year ago and this is the 2nd time I have listened to it, although I have listened to album many times on CD, this remastered version is very impressive, loads of dynamic range and a quiet pressing as well. I seem to return to The Wall about once or twice a year and it always give me goosebumps, its just such a great Pink Floyd album in its own right. time to build my Wall.

Strange that when I'm in a better mood my choice of music gets heavier and louder
