they are stunning... you have to learn to wear them right way, and i think you need to do regular ear tests with them as ive found your hearing changes, day to day; good thing about them is they can follow your ears

Marc Streitenfeld – Prometheus (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
I originally posted this in Classical, but on reflection it's a mix of classical/electronic sound and some interesting recording approaches.
This is the second time I have listened to this and it is just so impressive.
It is an amazing album from several points. The music is what can only be described as a soundscape, which paints a dark and at times eerie picture, as you would expect for one of the Alien films. The liner notes by the composer say that he records the orchestra backwards, and used quarter and half tone harmonies, and employed odd-tunings. He used household instruments to get some of the sounds. He emphasises that the sounds are not produced from synthesisers but originated from organic instruments or objects. Consider the complexity of the music it is IMO an outstanding composition. The dynamics are quite frightening at times with some extremely bass notes, probably the lowest and longest I had heard from my speakers.
I would really recommend that you give this a listen, especially if you are partial to anything like Tangerine Dream, Tomita, Jean Michel Jarre or similar.
