Roxy had a completely unique sound in 1972, I was 14 at the time, many of my school mates just did not get them, including Virginia Plain. It wasn’t until around ‘75 that they moved to a more pop/rock sound, presumably driven by Mr Ferry’s wish to become famous and rich, but even then kept their distinct style.
We will have to agree to disagree. I have all their albums (up to and including 'Avalon'), and like the debut album the least. But I do agree about 'For Your Pleasure'.

A lot of people don't rate Avalon, but like you I like it very much. So we do agree about some things.
Listening is the act of aural discrimination and dissemination of sound, and accepting you get it wrong sometimes.

A wonderful CD, this 1997 re-issue is noted as AAD, someone obviously took great care transferring it originally to digital. A favourite album of mine by KB.

I know of people who previously didn't like Roxy Music, but absolutely love 'Avalon'.
